Wild Dog
Alert and listening
An evening yawn
Enjoying the evening sun outside the den
Aware of me and the camera but still relaxed
Evening greeting ritual
The Alpha female having lost much of her fur from being in the den with the pups
The whole pack outside the den kept looking up into the trees above
. . .
Eventually we spotted what they were staring at!
We concluded this leopard had just been out walking when it came across the dogs' den
The dogs would have immediately attacked
and the leopard took refuge in the tree
There it had to stay throughout daylight hours looking less than pleased
Eventually we got to see what the dogs had been guarding
5 young pups came out and we all looked at each other in wonder
One little chap was much bolder than the others
He seemed a natural leader
The pack all kept guard for the youngsters
